Transmission oil cooler lines are made of aluminum tubing and transfer transmission fluid from the transmission to an external cooler. The most common sizes are 3/8” OD (9.52mm) and ½” OD (12.7mm). Hutchings Automotive Products is developing larger diameters to meet customer requirements. TOC lines contain crimped hose sections to allow for engine roll and build variations. Often the lines have an integrated bypass valve operated by pressure or temperature that bypasses the cooler or directs the fluid through the cooler during specific vehicle conditions. These coupled lines utilize quick connects, tube nuts or single bolt flanges as connection methods. Stainless steel brackets with rubber/silicone isolators and plastic clips hold the part in place for the life of the vehicle. Assemblies are normally shipped with protective sleeves, assurance caps and shipping caps depending on the customer requirements.
