Environmental Policy

At Hutchings Automotive Products we are committed to conducting our manufacturing processes with a rational and efficient use of natural resources in order to achieve a sustainable operation.

This way we comply with the prevention of pollution according to the applicable environmental legislation and other requirements; involving all levels within the organization.

Our goal is to establish a system that is continually improving our environmental performance.

Conflict Minerals Policy

Hutchings Automotive Products does not support any form of exploitation in the Republic of Congo or its neighboring countries with the attempt to exact cassiterite (for tin), wolframite (for tungsten), coltan (for tantalum), and gold ore. Rebel groups profiting from this mining activity must not be encouraged. To make sure of this, Hutchings Automotive Products adheres to the Conflict Free Sourcing Initiative.

Hutchings Automotive Products will not use any mineral on its products that are known to come from conflict areas, the company won’t use any sub tier components known to have such minerals.

Transparency and Anti-discrimination Policy

Hutchings believes that transparent business practices and honest work are vital to operate under a scheme of corporate responsibility. By respecting international and local laws and regulations, Hutchings acknowledges the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Hutchings is committed on respecting international human rights such as: freedom of association, prevention of discrimination, and an absolute rejection of child labor and forced labor.

Hutchings also rejects the discrimination of any human being based on their race, ethnicity, skin color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and physical or mental disabilities.

Once a year since 2011, HAP Cartago has opened the doors to the National Blood Bank of Costa Rica and has given its employees the time and space to voluntarily donate blood.

Cooperation

HAP Cartago helped the local Municipality of EL GUARCO by picking up solid wastes and planting trees at the road side.

Environment

Rainfall Harvesting Project

HAP Cartago installed 3 1,000L tanks that are able to collect up to 3,000L of rain water with every rainfall.
