  • 1968 – Jack Hutchings established S&H Fabricating and Engineering Inc. Working from a small shop in Pontiac, Michigan, Mr. Hutchings manufactured tubing assemblies, setting the direction of the company for the next 50 years.
  • 1978 – S&H Fabricating and Engineering expanded the product line over the following years to integrate the use of aluminum in HVAC and engine oil cooler lines, transmission oil cooler lines and heater hose assemblies.
  • 1995 – S&H Fabricating and Engineering Inc. awarded GM Supplier of the Year.
  • 1998 – The company had grown to be the primary supplier of these products to the Automotive OEM marketplace, with 18 facilities in the USA, Mexico, Canada and the United Kingdom.
  • 2003 – Jack Hutchings acquired Mehra Tube Inc. Many of the S&H staff transferred to Mehra Tube Inc., resulting in combined experience of more than 200 years in aluminum tube fabrication.
  • 2005 – The name Mehra Tube Inc. was changed to Hutchings Automotive Products.
  • 2008 – Hutchings Automotive Products is awarded GM Supplier of the Year.
  • 2011 – Managed a successful migration from steel to aluminum for various assemblies, including transmission and engine oil cooler lines. Hutchings Automotive Products was the first company to integrate the use of TOC/EOC aluminum lines for FCA.
  • 2015 – GM introduced the first aluminum transmission oil cooler lines on the GM Corvette.
